This lovely hybrid combines a primary besseae hybrid with a species, longifolium. However, the hybrid pictured was made with the compact form of longifolium, variety gracile. This has much smaller delicate flowers than its larger growing cousin. The result is a delightful compact growing plant
which produces several flowers per spike and which open semi-sequentially. In general, phragmipediums thrive under moderate temperatures and bright indirect light. They also require very clean water (rain or RO) to grow well. |
